The Sunday Evening Brass Quintet of Iowa City

The Sunday Evening Brass Quintet (so-called because we find it easiest to get together for rehearsal on Sunday evenings) was formed by trombonist Ed Kottick, a retired University of Iowa musicologist who left his career as a professional musician nearly 50 years ago and has only recently begun playing again.  Ed was fortunate to make contact with four other fine musicians who, while all exceedingly busy, nevertheless were looking for an opportunity to play the challenging music of the brass quintet repertoire.  The other members of the Quintet are Dennis Pedde and Scott Vogelgesang, trumpets; Randall Aitchison, horn; and Ken Ausman, tuba.
